Govan Community Project Bike Library

Govan Community Project Bike Library website

Govan Community Project’s Moss Heights Bike Library works just like a regular library, but instead of books we are lending bikes. Along with loaning out bikes, it is also a hub for bike related activities including lessons, led-rides, maintenance classes and basic bike repairs.

What we offer

  • Bike loans (only for refugees and asylum seekers)
  • Basic bike repairs including puncture repairs, brake pad replacements
  • Cycle lessons
  • Led-rides
  • Maintenance classes

Where?

Our Bike Library is based from a shipping container in the upper car park just above the Moss Heights flats:

Upper Car Park,
40 Moss Heights Avenue,
Glasgow
G52 2TX

Bike Loans for refugees and asylum seekers

Bike loans are available to people who are in the asylum system or who have received their refugees status. We recommend that members live roughly within walking distance of the library, in other words the distance you are prepared to walk to collect your bike.

Adult bikes, kids bikes, balance bikes, extra kids seats and trailers for pulling kids are available for individuals and families to borrow.

Bike repairs

We offer basic bike servicing for anyone in the local community with a modest suggested donation. We can provide basic services like puncture repairs, brake pad replacement other minor adjustments.

Join the library!

Join the library to get access to our services, membership is free!

If you are loaning a bike you need to show some photographic ID and complete an additional form when you collect your bike. Demand for bike loans is high so there can sometimes be a bit of a wait!

Complete the Library Membership form.

Volunteer

The Bike Library depends on volunteers to help with all our activities including bicycle repairs, led-rides and lessons. Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills, get to know new members of the community and have fun. If you are interested in finding out more please get in touch!
